Ly Ho studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology at RMIT University. Here he discusses his experiences of student life and beyond!
Tell us about your study experience?
The course structure is good enough, although I would like it more up-to-date with technology. It should also be designed to be market-ready i.e. bringing more practical and industry experience during the course.
Can you give us a “top 3” for RMIT University?
- The course is well designed.
- Equipment is good Lecturers,
- Staff are really helpful.
What advice would you give to someone starting your course?
Do not just study at the campus. Reach out and research to see what technologies and tools they are using out there in the job market.
What is your job now?
Product Manager for my own business.
Did you find it easy to get a job after graduation?
Yes, I was lucky to have the employment offered straight after completing the course. Started with Deloitte in Melbourne to gain some experience and then moved to an IT firm to work as a developer. There I met my boss and we now open our own business.
How did you get from your institution to where you are now?
Continuous learning and improving my professional skills while searching for opportunities.
Describe a typical day in three words?
Have you been affected by COVID-19?
Yes, my clients’ businesses have been affected by Covid-19. It also affects my business indirectly as well.
What have you learnt about yourself?
I have a chance to reflect on myself and what I want to do in the near future.
