Coffee with Alice Truong

-

Joining us in our virtual coffee shop today is Alice Truong from Australia.

Alice studied for a Master’s Degree of Commerce at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. We chatted to her about her study experience and life in 2020.

Tell us about your study experience?

It was challenging but I thoroughly enjoyed the friendliness and the support that my university provided. We had great (free) tuition support, assignment check assistance, free health care, library with an extensive range, and sports facilities. Not to mention the great lecturers who tried their best to give us real-life experience and assignment support.

Can you give us a “top 3” for Swinburne University of Technology?

  1. Great and support lecturers,
  2. Practical subjects,
  3. Great out-of-class support (assignment help check, English improvement, social clubs, sports facilities, health check, library).

What advice would you give to someone starting your course?

Attend the welcoming day and explore all facilities that your campus offers as much as you can.

Check the notice board every now and then.

Try everything, you will be surprised with many great activities the university and campus offer at no cost.

Did you find it easy to find employment?

I would not say it was easy. I think it depends on each person’s goal.

What is your job now?

Customer Success Manager / Implementation Manager.

Describe your typical day?

My typical day will start with breakfast and tea/coffee and then work or study until the afternoon. I also try to squeeze in some at-home yoga sessions.

Have you been affected by COVID-19?

No.

What have you learnt about yourself?

I have learnt that I am a very fair, honest, caring and candid person. If I saw something not right, I would say something.

Three words to describe your life during this time?

  1. Slow,
  2. Content,
  3. Relaxing.

What about the future?

  1. Uncertainty,
  2. Short-plan,
  3. Promising.

What positives can be taken from the changes in our lives?

I have more time to focus on myself and doing what I believe in.

Thank you for your time, Alice!
